Jac’s On Bond

Jac’s On Bond, situated within a historic 1831 townhouse on cobblestoned Bond Street, owes its name to Jack Champlin, proclaimed “the Mayor of Bond St.”, who lived in the bar’s building for over 55 years and nurtured a sense of community in Noho, with his artist friends and strangers alike. Much like beloved Jack, whose legacy permeates the establishmentand neighborhood, our brand identity echoes his enigmatic presence and kind-hearted and cosmopolitan downtown spirit.

Inspired by the downtown NYC from Jack’s earlier days, we paired simple sans serif with a retro typeface for the logo, reminiscent of graphic ephemera from that 60s and 70s, from street signage to poster designs. Our creative direction is anchored in a strong sense of place, with the repetition of “on bond” throughout the branding along with the building’s number, and a classic line drawing of the facade printed on the business card. The graphic impact of our logo goes a long way and is explored at different scales, and in various colorways from our glamorous and timeless palette.
