Bältis

Paris, France

Founded by two cousins of Lebanese descent, Bältis brings a different ice cream experience to the Parisian map. Through artisanal production and flavor and texture profiles, their Lebanese heritage is honored without pretension or folklore.

Combining Beirut's warmth and vivacity with Parisian refinement and discretion, Bältis' creative direction is a marriage of two cities and cultures. Our color palette is inspired by the colorful streetscapes of Beirut's markets, and an intentionally imperfect illustration style is used to showcase Bältis' unique ingredients, as well as the (Bältis) goddess herself. Full of human character, texture, and context, our visual identity aims to please patrons of any age range and cultural background.

Our logo design is a balance of ornate and timeless, the addition of a dot above the "a" forming a pyramid of ice cream scoops, and highlighting the generosity and hospitality of the Bältis experience. A system of secondary logos, created with fills of abstracted ingredient crops is introduced as a means to merge illustration and typography while exploring various colorways. Parisian restraint shows up in our collateral's balanced and contemporary layouts – by limiting our backgrounds colors to ivory and white, we create contract with the rest of the imagery's vibrancy.
