Old Sound Wines

Tucked away on the south side of the old farm road, just outside the village of Mattituck, is Old Sound Vineyard - where founders Anthony Martignetti and Angela Ledgerwood live and grow their grapes. Our brand identity for Old Sound portrays the breadth of this little pocket of North Fork through its illustrated labels. The labels are designed to encapsulate the area's originality and whimsical atmosphere through illustrations—ranging from cherry tree branches to robin eggs. Maintaining stylistic cohesiveness, they evoke the charm of old masters' oil-paint still lifes and botanical imagery. Drawing inspiration from the timeless typographic elegance of Barolo wines, our labels integrate Old Sound's bold lowercase logo with an elegant round hand script font and a highly legible French serif.
